It appears that Cynthia Gudger successfully stole the identity of Elizabeth Neuffer, who passed away in 2003

Elizabeth Neuffer was the Boston Globe Journalist who lost her life in Iraq on assignment in 2003. Cynthia Gudger had this copy of Ms. Neuffer's driver's license in her possession and it appeared from other documents in Ms. Gudger's possession that she was also collecting over 20,000.00 in Elizabeth Neuffer's social security benefits. Not to leave out the credit cards that were issued to Elizabeth Neuffer that were in Ms. Gudger's possession. We also have documentation that Beverly Hills CPA, Susan Marlowe, used a credit card issued to Elizabeth Neuffer in 2006. Again, Elizabeth Neuffer died in 2003. Finally, while Cynthia Gudger was on the run from Riverside, Kern and the Federal Government in 2008, she rented an apartment in Fillmore, California, under Elizabeth Neuffer's name and social security.
